WalthersProto Superliner I Lounge Amtrak Ph VI Lighted is ready for your HO scale railroad's long-distance passenger trains with factory-installed interior lighting and prototype-accurate detailing. Based on the original Superliner I cars introduced in the late 1970s, these passenger cars were inspired by the Hi-Level cars of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. Although Amtrak introduced Superliner II cars in the 1990s, many original Superliner I cars remain in active service, making them ideal for modeling North American passenger operations over the past 45 years.
The WalthersProto Superliner I Lounge Amtrak Ph VI Lighted model features factory-printed road numbers, paint color matched to Amtrak standards, and realistic interior lighting. A real metal finish replicates the appearance of stainless steel, while window gasket details, prototypical tinted glazing, and accurate upper and lower interiors deliver exceptional realism.
Additional details include factory-installed grab irons, working diaphragms, rebuilt airbag trucks with springs, correct 36" RP-25 turned metal wheelsets, and Proto MAX™ metal knuckle couplers for dependable operation. Designed to match the full-length prototype, this passenger car includes complete underbody detailing and performs best on layouts with a minimum 24" radius.
