Kadee HO Scale Split Shank No. 34 Couplers are designed for lightweight, old-time HO scale equipment where a smaller coupler is needed for realistic operation and dependable performance. This 3/4 size coupler features an extended trip pin mounted on a narrow gauge coupler, making it ideal for pre-1900 era locomotives and rolling stock.

The Kadee HO Scale Split Shank No. 34 Couplers provide the appearance and functionality needed for early-era model railroad equipment while maintaining the quality and reliability expected from Kadee products. The #711 and #712 couplers are compatible with Kadee full-size HO Scale Couplers, offering flexibility for model railroaders building detailed layouts with a variety of rolling stock.

Because of their smaller size, these couplers do not have the same gathering ability or load capacity as standard HO scale couplers. However, they are designed to easily handle the lighter loads commonly associated with historic railroad equipment. Each coupler includes a plastic coupler, coil centering spring, insulated draft gearbox, and gearbox lid for complete installation.

The Kadee HO Scale Split Shank No. 34 Couplers can be body mounted on flat surfaces, including HO scale locomotives and rolling stock. For easier assembly, the #702 Coupler Assembly Fixture may be used during installation.

For safe operation, avoid using metal couplers directly on metal surfaces or inside metal draft gearboxes, as this may create electrical crossover or shorting issues that could damage equipment.
