Circuitron Remote Signal Activator is designed to provide reliable remote actuation for model railroad crossing gates, train order boards, and semaphore signals. The mounting bracket and mechanism are designed to utilize a Tortoise™ switch machine, which is not included, together with a special drive wire cable assembly. This setup allows the mechanism to remotely operate signals and crossing equipment that have a vertical control wire extending below the layout.

The Circuitron Remote Signal Activator can be used with compatible signal types manufactured by NJ International, Tomar, and other manufacturers. Fully adjustable and precise stops are provided at both ends of travel, helping provide consistent and repeatable movement during operation. The total travel can be adjusted from 0.1 inch to 0.7 inch, making the mechanism suitable for use across different model railroad scales and a variety of installation requirements.

The mechanism can also drive two cables from a single unit when desired, making it useful for dual crossing gate installations. This provides a practical way to coordinate the movement of multiple operating components from one mechanism. For semaphore applications requiring three-position control, the Circuitron Remote Signal Activator can be combined with the Circuitron SD-2 Semaphore Driver.

Whether used for crossing gates, train order boards, or semaphore signals, this mechanism provides an adjustable solution for adding realistic operating movement to detailed model railroad layouts.
