This ATSF F7A locomotive represents unit #265C, which was delivered without stainless-steel grilles, creating a unique appearance between an F3 and an F7. It features the classic blue-and-yellow freight paint scheme and detailed components based on prototype references.
  • The Athearn Genesis F7A DCC-Ready Santa Fe 265C includes authentic ATSF features such as a freight pilot, 36-inch fan-equipped dynamic brakes, nose and rear lift lugs, dual single-note air horns, and back-up lights with red lenses following prototype practice. Additional details include F3-style chicken wire grills, a modernized grab iron configuration, cut skirts, a can-style antenna, inertial air filter, and spark arrestors that can be installed by the consumer for a later appearance.
  • Built as part of the Genesis F-Unit series, this locomotive includes separately applied photo-etched metal and injection molded details, wire grab irons, windshield wipers, lift rings, trainline and MU hoses, detailed fuel tanks, and see-through cab windows with a full interior. The model features LED lighting, directional constant lighting, and a heavy die-cast frame for improved traction and pulling power.
  • The DCC-ready design uses Quick Plug™ plug-and-play technology with a 21-pin NEM connector, making decoder installation simple. The Genesis driveline includes a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision-machined flywheels, multi-link drivetrain, all-wheel drive, and reliable electrical pickup for smooth and quiet operation.
  • With RP25 wheel contours, body-mounted McHenry® scale knuckle couplers, and a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended), this locomotive delivers realistic performance and dependable operation on popular HO scale track systems.
